Art A'Faire

Everyone enjoyed the Art A'Faire today at Visalia United Methodist Church, including eleven month old Adin, who was entertained by watching the audience watch the stage. There was art, music, dance, demonstrations, food, and a wonderful turnout despite the first rain of the season.

Glenda, of A Stitch in Pine, displayed some of her intricately woven pine needle baskets. Melissa, of Honeybee Pottery, showed her stoneware pottery and we had a good discussion about upcoming local pottery events.

The faire was highlighted with wonderful art and entertainment throughout the day. Every half hour we were delighted with dance, song, mime and skits from some very talented folks of the area.

From the very young pre-second graders Kid's Edition, who performed a "Disney Spectacular" to young adults of the Sierra Performing Arts who delighted us with "A Halloween Celebration" of dance, song and creative costumes, we were thoroughly entertained.

We came home tired and were greeted with a beautiful yet ominous cloud display in our front yard. Good night till next time.

I like that young woman's pots, and the baskets, but that baby is sooo charming.

  5. Hey, Gary I think it is spam - I guess it won't hurt to just leave it there will it? I couldn't resist taking that baby's photo, she was so cute. At first I thought it was a boy, when I asked the mother if I could take a photo she informed me she was a girl - you don't see red hair that often any more. I finally asked blogger for help to get that corrected, but I might have two feedburners now, not sure how to get rid of the extra, fix one thing break another.

Hi Patricia, yes I sold some of my pottery too. I had quite a few customers and some repeat ones too. My booth was right up near the stage and the time flew by watching the entertainment. I had forgotten how much I like modern dance; it's been so long since I have seen any. I want to go see the Sierra Performing Arts again some time.
