A Plate A Day

A quick post to let you know two of my plates were featured on A Plate A Day. Click the link to see my Possum Platter, 9" x 12", stoneware with sgraffito (as yet unfired Cone 10), and my Garden Fairy at Dusk, 9", stoneware with multiple brushed glazes, cone 10 reduction. This is a blog to visit regularly so be sure to bookmark the site. Each weekday Mignon Khargie highlights a plate from a different ceramic artist. Thanks Mignon.

  3. Hi Meredith, thanks, my little possum is quite the traveler, he'll have to travel to another city to get Cone 10 fired too.

    Hi Miri, thanks.

  4. YAY! Congrats on the Plate a Day post. The plates are great! I haven't made a plate in the longest time, they just don't raku that well. I think the fairy plate could be a raku candidate though. Using underglazes, it would be great I bet.

  6. Hi Tracy, thanks, I like making plates and bowls because they are a nice canvas for drawings. I had forgotten about painting on glazes on the fairy plate, which was a feat in itself. I had a tough time getting plates and platters to make it through Cone 10 but finally achieved some success.

  14. wow.. that garden fairy one. I especially like the swirls... the spirals, or whatever they're called. Oh, and yes, my job is great. It's good to have income. One of the biggest downfalls about it is that I am spending less time in the studio. Guess that's why they call it 'work'. :) peace~
