Happy New Year

While walking in a grassy field I saw a lone mushroom blooming, in a huge area by itself, not another one around. The lone mushroom reminded me I don't have to travel far to see or learn something new. And yet I'm about to set out on a long trip in my quest for a new place to live and set up my studio.

It's a big world and a small world too, so much to discover. I'm looking forward to the new year, an ending and a beginning. You all have, through your blogs, comments and encouragement, made the world very small and yet very big to me. I wish you all a very small and a very big and Happy New Year.

  11. Hi Gelisa, thanks so much, same to you too.

Hi Barbara, thanks, I can't wait.

Is the signing something on my site? I haven't changed anything, but I noticed someone else didn't leave their url. Maybe blogspot changed something? I am wondering if I can change the settings somehow.

  13. Beautiful mushroom! I have lots of different kinds of ‘shrooms growing on my place. I bought a mushroom identification book so that I might try to eat a few of them, but I still don’t trust myself enough to distinguish the poisonous ones from the edible ones.
You have so many wonderful adventures ahead of you – I know you are going to have a great year and find a perfect place to settle into!

  14. Awesome mushroom...love the way you captured it.

I haven't been by to visit in awhile, so have to get caught up.

Wishing you a Very Happy New Year. I think 2010 is going to be a really good year for all of us. The Blue Moon on New Years eve told me so!

  15. Hi Jewels, thanks, please be careful eating any wild mushrooms they are so similar to one another and some mushrooms can kill you with only a very small amount. I have a photograph I took while we lived in Arkansas that were huge that grew out of a tree stump, they looked like a cabbage. I had the photo enlarged. It was really cool. I bet you find some beautiful ones there in the woods.

Hi Barbara, thanks, I had to practically lie on the ground to get it from that angle. It's only about 3 inches tall. It kind of reminds me of when I was a kid lying in the grass and looking at the world of insects from their level, different layers to the earth all around us. Yippee for the blue moon for this year.
