STARworks

On Saturday Gary and I went to Starworks Open House with Mark and Meredith Heywood. We met so many local potters, what fun.

Takuro and Hitomi were gracious hosts during the evening. Santiago made some great chicken mole and I left with a sample of their Star White 6, as well as Okeewemee 6, a buff colored clay to try.

Somehow I only took photos of glass blowing, to see photos of the open house, check Samantha and Bruce's blog here.

Stay tuned for some pottery tours coming up next. Comments are welcome.

  1. Linda,
Glad you're having fun in NC. I'm not going to be able to make it to the Blog show opening on Friday but I am going to be in Asheboro this Tuesday giving a little presentation at noon. It's at the Randolph Arts Guild. If you don't have any plans I'd love it if you could make it. Meredith will know about it I think. It's called Lunch and Learn. It would be wonderful to meet you in person.

  2. Linda, I love living through your travels and enjoy it very much. I don't comment as much as I read, but I am always visiting your blog. Glad things are well with you. And chicken mole is one of my favorite dishes... haven't had that in a long time.

  4. Hi Ron, thanks, Meredith told me about your talk and I am planning on coming, I will be so happy to finally meet you in person, thanks so much.

Hi Yolanda, thanks ever so much, so glad you are enjoying reading my blog. I enjoy yours and so many others too, the pottery world, the blog world and the whole world has become so much more to me since I started blogging and meeting folks virtually. Before I started writing my blog I was pretty much a recluse and blogging has truly brought me out of my shell.

It's been years since I made chicken mole, but I love both the subtle and vibrant flavors of Latino foods. As I understand Santiago comes from South America and I just met him at this event. I am having a wonderful time here being able to meet potters at open houses and various events. Even though the economy may not be doing as well as it has in the past I feel there is an underlying current of "human goodness and sharing" coming back into the world in subtle ways, which brings me a hope and better feeling about life than I have had in a long time. Your passion about your culture comes through to me when you post Yolanda, and I truly love hearing from you; your wonderful spirit comes through to me each time I hear from you. thanks again.

Hi Judy, thanks, I am sure we will meet one of these days. I am having a wonderful time here meeting what I am just now realizing are some of the best people of the world, those how work with materials from the earth and with folks they meet each and every day and truly want a connection to their fellow man.

Sorry to wax philsophical in my comments here, but I truly feel like I am on the verge of an epiphany about the world which may or may not have anything to do with blogging or pottery.
