Rain Goddess

Pies are much better than cake, but not those kind. This time last year I didn't think I'd make it another day or week, let alone another year for a multitude of reasons, somehow I did. Today on my birthday I'm thankful to wake up alive each day. Although I envisioned a flower goddess carefree with flowers flowing every which way, a more reserved and questioning flower goddess emerged. I plan to work on the carefree flowing flower goddess aspect.

Yesterday we had a great community wide sale, good stuff found new homes, we made some money, and I have a few new collectors of my pottery.

Let's see now, how can I make a garden goddess look more carefree with the flowers flowing every which way? Oh, I know; I can attach the flowers in her hair randomly. A few more sketches are needed and next time I'll blend the facial features in the clay more. The sketch looks to be from Fiji. I should be making a rain goddess, we really need some rain here in Florida.

I just noticed Gary left a note by the computer and it says, "Sixty-one years old tomorrow?? I didn't think you were that old when I met you, what happened?" We're headed to the Archaeological Mounds Park close by before it gets hot, so stay tuned for info about that visit. Thanks for reading; have a good one.

  4. Happy Birthday, Linda! I hope you have a fun day of exploration and adventure. When you first described how you'd envisioned your flower goddess, I thought you were describing how you'd initially seen yourself in life and how the more reserved and questioning goddess emerged. I thought, you can still let your inner flowing flower goddess emerge. 61 is the perfect age to let her come out to play! :)

  7. Happy Birthday! and many many more. I went to a studio sale in Irvine yesterday, I could not believe how many people were ceramics. Luckily I didn't go as a vendor. It was more fun being a buyer. Yolanda
