Chaney Workshop Day One

In the Meagan Chaney workshop I'm taking this weekend, we're working with earthenware clay. I was a little apprehensive about a new clay, but as I suspected, clay is clay. Here's a photo of the three pieces I made today. I'm in the middle of glazing them. The cutouts you see in the pieces are where I'll place the glass.

Here's a couple of quick shots of my two classmates from today. Today we made our clay forms and glazed them; Meagan will once fire these for us later in the week. Tomorrow we'll be learning about glass, slumping and attaching to the clay forms.

Somehow I neglected to get a photo of Meagan or her studio. I promise to get more photos tomorrow, so stay tuned. Oh and I unloaded the kiln last night and got some great and some promising results, so stay tuned for those too. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
