You Can Never Have Too Much Heart

More of my pottery found new homes this week. This wall tile, Tree With Welcoming Arms, was purchased by a mother for her teenage daughter. The daughter said she had to have this tree for her room.

I didn't think anyone would like the dark color of this bowl, but they did. They loved the texture and the unique foot I put on the bowl. Each week folks say they love seeing my hand built work. Thanks to all of you who have voiced appreciation, it means so much to hear words of support and encouragement. The song, Home on the Range, just popped into my head. Now all day long I'll be humming the chorus 'Never is Heard, A Discouraging Word, and the Skies are not Cloudy all day'. Here's Neil Young singing the chorus.

Lots of other folks have been raving about my pendants saying they can't believe something made of ceramic can be so light. This week smaller pendants were more popular than the leaf pendants. One lady bought three hearts last week and came back this week and had to have one more. You can never have too much heart. Every bit of love helps keep positive energy swirling around us. This is really weird. Is it just me or do you think the tree above looks like it has a heart midway up?

Meanwhile we've been getting ready for the Strawberry Festival this weekend. Gary rigged up another display for my smaller wall tiles. Hope you remembered to say white rabbit this morning. This post is part of the weekly Mud Colony what's happening in the studio. Thanks for reading and for all your positive thoughts and comments.

  1. Fabulous tree of life. It has a heart and energy, as does all your work. Great stuff Linda!

  2. Hi Elaine, thanks so much. When I made that tree I noticed after I made it that the branches looked like arms, strange how these things happen as if all on their own.

  3. Hello Linda:
How lovely and encouraging that people have been so enthusiastic about your work and have made it their own. That must be so incredibly satisfying for you.

The tree has definitely a heart to it, so absolutely appropriate that a mother should buy it for her daughter.

  7. Hi Lori, thanks, I so happy that a teenager likes my pottery, it is good to know someone that age appreciates the hand made.

Hi Teresa, thanks, sometimes I never think of these things till I start to write them down, but then I realized that must be the continuing use of the heart in art, because it is a symbol of what is good in so many ways, the giving and the receiving of good words and deeds.

  8. Seems like your pendants have found a real following. How wonderful.
Fearing for my sanity, I won't listen to that song.
