Blue Vine Bowl Set

If I had done my test tiles before I glazed this bowl I wouldn't have chosen this glaze on the speckled clay, some of the blue broke to a golden brown color. All of these were on the bottom shelf of the kiln. They did fired up nicely but I know for future bowls what glazes to use..

These are hard to photograph since they are so dark. Here's one of the large bowl and one of the small bowls. I like the edge treatment with the improved rounded depressions. I'll make more of these sets in other colors. Meanwhile my computer turn on button broke so I had to go to the library to post this so I'll get to comments and reading blogs later. Meanwhile I have several plate design and colors worked up for the next post. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  2. Hello Linda:
We think that these dishes are most appealing as they are. To us they suggest the 'antique', almost as if discovered in the ruins of the Inca Empire. Wonderful.

We are so sorry to learn that your computer is 'ill' and do hope that it will recover for you soon.

    Kellemes hétvégét!

  3. You may be disappointed in the glaze but I think they will look terrific with food on them.

Glazes are a crap shoot....no doubt about it!

  4. These are beautiful, just as they are. Sometimes things turn out better if we don't plan them. :)

Sorry about your computer and hope it's nothing serious. Mine just crashed last week, and I had to buy a new one, but it's so much nicer than the old one. Have a great weekend!

  6. Hi Barbara, thanks, the bowls are really dark for my taste, but usually the ones I don't like are the ones that sell right away. Ha.

Hi Jane and Lance, thanks, that was my feeling about these is they look antique or pulled out of the ruins, someone will probably rave about them. My computer is ancient and is still limping along so I can't complain.

Hi Marguerite, thanks, yes the unplanned things are sometimes better than we think.

    Hi Sherry, thanks so much.

Hi Anna, thanks hopefully someone likes them.
