Spring Green

Green bowls from the last firing, cereal or fruit size

green persimmon growing slowly

heirloom green tomatoes ripening

ground cherry (lantern) or volunteer pepper in the lawn ?

Speaking of Spring green, I'm going to a local farmer's market this morning hoping to exchange some of my pottery for green paper, hopefully making above and beyond the reasonable booth rent. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  6. Is the booth rent by the day? Used to be at our farmer's market you could pay a one day $10.00 fee. Now it's yearly only.

  10. I love your green theme today! It's my favorite color. How nice that you have tomatoes already. We have just this past week passed the threat of a late frost, so it's safe to put out tomato plants.

  11. Girl, you know how I love green! Hope you left the farmer's market smiling. BTW, I visited a store in our village yesterday. They had small spinning tops, about an inch and a half wide, with colorful plastic coverings at the top and ceramic bottoms. They're supposed to be Zen-like stress relievers one spins on a desk and were priced at $2.95. She wouldn't tell me where they were made, except not in the USA. When I asked if she sold many, she said she was constantly re-ordering. Just thought I'd share.

  13. The green bowls are just lovely. The farmers markets here have become so expensive to participate in that we rarely broke even. It makes me wonder who is making all the money off the booth fees from local craftsmen and farmers that do participate?

Hi Lori, thanks, booth rent and a little more but not astronomical, but sales were good for the first time market.

  15. Hi Barbara, thanks, we have an extremely mild winter and spring so I took a chance and it paid off. Ha.

Hi Michele, thanks, I need lots more green to pay the bills, that's for sure.

Hi Ms. Sparrow, thanks, I always take a chance and am burned but not this year, for once in a lifetime I guess.

Hi Kittie, thanks, that price must be foreign made, yikes, I can't even fire my kiln for less then $30 a pop.

Hi Laurie, thanks, the farmers' market was well attended for the first time at that location, every other week I'll be there.

Hi Julia, thanks, you know most venues those putting on the event are the ones making money, but this one is $10 for the fee, so I did make my money back and lots of folks took my card for in studio sales.
