I Got Mail

Gary came home from the post office the other day and said I got mail. Yippie, I love mail and even better it was a package. Look what Suzi of Smartcat blog sent me; a book on gluten free bread baking, The Gluten Free Gormet Bakes Bread by Bette Hagman. Reading this cookbook has me dreaming I can once again eat some bread that doesn't taste like a bland rice cake. Ha. I plan on getting back to bread making real soon. You meet the best people blogging; thanks so much Suzi.

Here's another strip stacked canister I made. Now that I have two I plan to make two more in varying sizes just to see what a set will look like. This one doesn't have color yet, but I plan to add it. Thanks for reading and for all your comments and encouragement.

  1. It's my pleasure, Linda. We didn't make a lot of the recipes but the ones we did were really tasty.
I like the idea of a set of canisters, good shape and interesting to look at.

  2. Hi Suzi, thanks every so much, the book has some interesting stories in the front about the symptoms and effects of those with gluten intolerance, since I just learned about my gluten intolerance two years ago I am still learning all about how to change my lifestyle, thanks again.

You have me thinking now about making a canister with a rubber insert around the lid to make it air tight might have to explore that, so many ideas and so little time. Ha. thanks again.

  3. the stacking series are unique and speak to handformed. I personally like the confetti colors and can imagine a show with tons of the colored stacked tower pieces like confetti and then one all black and one all shino. Keep on making interesting pieces. Joan T

  6. Hi Joan, thanks, an all black and an all white one would be cool too. I plan on making more with the dripped underglaze especially since I finally got a hair dryer to dry the drips. Thanks for your encouragement.

Hi Ms. Sparrow, thanks, yes future blogs, I may have to wait till it's a bit cooler outside, it has been blisteringly hot this summer and hate to turn on the oven.

Hi Amy, thanks, rebate products, how cool, hope to find a wheel one of these days. Looking forward to all your experimenting.
