Like a Hurricane

While I was photographing some of my newly fired towers outside today, (stay tuned for those) this baby lizard ran by. The gray above the lizard is the grout line of the brick planter, so you can just imagine how tiny he is. When the lizard was on the white walkway he ran like crazy, but once he ran onto the bricks he stayed motionless. Somehow baby lizards instinctively know how to camouflage themselves.

I love blue cheese, actually any kind of cheese, but blue cheese is close to the top of the list. But Gary doesn't like blue cheese so I don't use it in our cooking. I splurged on a small package of blue cheese the other day. I was trying to think of a way to eat it short of just digging in with a fork. For lunch I baked myself a sweet potato and then it hit me. Why not crumble some blue cheese over the top. So I cut the freshly cooked potato open added a dab of butter and then crumbled some blue cheese over the top. It was so delicious. Just writing this makes me hungry for more. Notice I even took a bite before I took the photo. Try it, you might like it.

We've done what we could to prepare for Isaac, stocking up on canned goods and bottled water and digging out our propane camping stove to cook on. Here's Neil Young, blown away, in Like a Hurricane. Isaac looks to graze by us slightly. Hope the folks down South and farther North fair as well. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  3. Hope you are as lucky as us- we were just missed by that massive typhoon that is now hitting Okinawa. We haven't seen a sunny day in weeks!
Can't wait to see the new work!

  4. I really dislike blue cheese and the thought of putting it on something as yummy as a sweet potato just seems wrong! Different strokes, I guess.

  5. I'm with Ms. Sparrow. I would put cream cheese on a sweet potato but my brother is welcome to all the blue cheese. On the other topic, safe through the storm.

  6. That sweet potato with blue cheese looks yummy! I'll have to try that soon. Yeah, looks like we're next in line for Issac. Nothing new for us, but still hoping it fizzles out.

Hi Adriane, thanks, you know me too well and are so right about the potting, Ha.

Hi Ms. Sparrow, thanks, I think the blue cheese is either love or hate cheese.

Hi Joanne, thanks, cream cheese, now I never would have thought of that, although it just might be good, hum. Ha.

Hi Marguerite, thanks, yes do try it so quick to make, I hope the storm fizzles out too, wishing you luck for sure.

  8. Hi Robert, thanks, I am so busy watching all the investigations of storms on this side of the globe I don't even look at the ones in your neck of the woods, so glad it missed you these storms are nothing to scoff at. Gary said he was in a typhoon in Taiwan which lasted for three days that was back in the 70s. We have had a lot of cloudy days here too. Can't predict mother nature that's for sure, stay tuned more work to be posted.
