I Have the Best Customers

The other day Gary went to the flea market to sell some of my pottery. He sold quite a few pieces including my large fish platter. At one point a girl about ten years old walked by and spotted the leaf above. She said it was so beautiful and she wanted it. She said she didn't have any money with her; her father said he'd buy it for her. Her father asked her if she wanted more than one leaf. She said no just that one. Her father asked her what she was going to do with the leaf. She said she was going to put it on her dresser and put her jewelry in it. Then she asked Gary if he made the pottery. Gary said no my wife did. The girl said, "Your wife does beautiful work". (from a ten year old girl, I love it). She asked Gary if he would be there next month. Gary said yes he would. She said "Good because I'll have my own money next time and I want to buy more pieces of pottery". I think this little girl is my youngest customer.

Take a look at Gigi in Hawaii's blog for photos of two of my pots in use in her home. I have the best customers. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. How sweet. It's great that this child is appreciating art and thinking about earning her own money to purchase it. That should make it more valuable. If she comes back that may also make her your youngest collector.

  3. Grab 'em while they're young! That's an artist in the making. Gigi did a wonderful post. It's nice to get validation every now and then. You certainly deserve it!

  6. Perhaps you have the best customers because of the quality of your work? I love your ten year old patron though - I hope she goes a looooong way.
