Recovering and Reading

A sore throat took hold which turned into a slight cold; first time I've been ill with this type of thing in more than five years. The stress of moving must have caught up with me. Thankfully at the library last week I picked up a few books to read. These two are fairly easy reads:

The Butterfly's Daughter by Mary Alice Monroe
Nightwoods by Charles Frazier

Now I'm reading a 720 page contemporary novel which Gary got out of the RV Park library. A Man in Full by Tom Wolfe is one of those books I have to read every word and can't gloss over thinking I already know the gist of the paragraph. Set primarily in Atlanta, there is great character development in the novel. I'm about a third of the way through enjoying every bit.

I'll be back to visiting your blogs soon, too much sneezing, nose blowing, and downing throat lozengers to do much except the reading. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  5. I so hope that you are getting better by the minute.
In the meantime, read and relax as much as you can.
(And isn't Tom Wolfe a stunning writer.)

  10. I really like Tom Wolfe, and I am so glad you are giving Mary Alice Monroe a try. The Butterfly's Daughter was the first one I read, then went on to find her other titles. I really loved Skyward, because of the birds.

You do need some R&R time now, so enjoy it.
