Blueberries Planted

Yesterday we planted the blueberries we purchased last week. They have a few blossoms on them and hopefully will have a few blueberries. That is if all the wind last night didn't knock them off. My heart goes out to all those affected by the rash of tornadoes we're having here in the states.

The alert radio Gary got has the loudest alarm, didn't get much sleep last night. Photos taken from the upper deck. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  2. It has been awful, just awful, I think they said that there have been 128 tornados in two days!

Love blueberries, I hope it survived the winds, and birds to come!

  3. You're going to be so happy you planted those bushes, and so will the birds. You always need to plant enough to share.

The tornados have been so awful, I feel so bad for the people who where hit by them and those that live around the area who spent the night afraid.

  4. Hello Linda,

Blueberries seem such an exotic crop to us! Wonderful to be able to grow your own and, with so many bushes, you will surely have a plentiful crop.

The news of the tornadoes sounds dreadful. So frightening to have one's home threatened, the very place where one needs to feel safe.

  5. Blueberries are on the plant list for us, too. Maybe cranberries; so much rain we have a bog.
Better the weather radio going off than not!

  8. I think I watched the weather channel all night. The storms missed the KC area, but I worried about all my bloggie friends. Stay safe!!!

  9. I am not sure if we could grow blueberries here or not, I should try. We had them years ago when we lived in a warmer part of NZ, and they did really well and were a lovely thing to have around.

  10. Good luck with the blueberries! You are so lucky to grow them. Two years ago I tried to grow some blueberries but they were not able to survive the summer because it was unbelievably hot and humid back then. I hope you do have a nice harvest!!
