Dogwoods in Bloom

The dogwoods are lighting up the forests as they continue to bloom. I am amazed and thankful at how many dogwoods we have in the woods surrounding us.

This one is too tall to get a close up. When the others bloom I'll try to get a closeup to  show you. With all these flowers in bloom I'm inspired to make more pieces of pottery with flowers so stay tuned for that. We got most of the cabinets in for my studio I'll take a photo today to show you coming up next. Thanks for visiting and for all your comments.

  1. This week we're due to have another freeze, which is called Dogwood Winter. There's also a Blackberry Winter, but I don't have any blackberries around to tell when it's coming. Our area has freezes sometimes as late as Mother's Day. Hope your plants are all well!

  2. Hi Barbara, thanks, oh I think we might get a freeze too, the last one set the plants we planted back a bit and I am not sure they will recover, I hope they do because they weren't cheap. I think we have blueberries or huckleberries up on the back hill but it's pretty steep to go up and look. Ha.

  5. Hello Linda,

How delicate these flowers look as they appear on the bare branches of the trees. They make such a wonderful tracery of colour in the woods. No wonder that they inspire you to create something beautiful!
