Quick Trip to Florida

We made a quick trip to Florida for business. We met some friends at our favorite tiki bar in Homosassa, The Freezer. I had snow crab.

Gary is allergic to crab so he had gulf shrimp.

Our friend had already eaten so he had a pitcher of beer. There's a beer can inside the center of the pitcher filled with ice which keeps the beer cold; it's called a polar pitcher. Click the polar pitcher link; they have them on Ebay.

View from our seat at the tiki bar. It's 82 degrees and pleasantly humid. More later. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. I am drooling over that seafood! Love the polar pitcher. I am hoping I can get some good seafood when I am in NH. My parents live near the coast, close to the Maine border.

  3. Hello Linda:

This looks to be our kind of place. We love all seafood and crab in particular!

We have never, before now, heard of a 'polar pitcher'. A unique idea when serving beer in temperatures of 80F.

    Enjoy your weekend.

  4. Hi Michele, thanks, we went by our fish market and are bringing back a freezer full of seafood.

Hi Gigi, thanks, we didn't realize how much we were missing Florida.

Hi Jane and Lance, thanks, I had never heard of a polar pitcher before either, but than again I don't bar up too often nowadays. Ha. The tiki bar is a covered overhead but open to the air on the walls so it was quite warm and the beer would get much too warm to drink. Of course if one were in Germany warm beer might be ok.
