Farm Fresh Bounty

Gary took me to the farmer's market this morning and he carried the produce while I picked out the farm fresh bounty. Never had home grown sweet potatoes before, can't wait for those. And need to look up Meredith's recipe for eggplant. We've been getting the white half runner beans all summer long. And look at those blackberries, they were fresh picked yesterday. Got the last of the garlic this season; been having Caesar salad once a week. I have to stand up to type cause I can't raise my arm up but it's not hurting as bad and is a little more flexible.

Luckily I had tiles made for my class so was able to practice the surface treatment on them yesterday. I see I need to add another hood line perpendicular with the ornament, Remember our Chevy flatbed?

Here's a mockingbird singing away. Now I think I need to go have a few blackberries. Thanks for reading and for all your comments and good wishes.

  1. Years ago, before he had his front teeth capped, my brother in law whistled incessantly. The dogs knew he was home when the whistle exited the truck. The mockingbirds figured this out and spent endless afternoons taunting the dogs by whistling like Tome coming home.

  2. what a wonderful story, I saw a program on TV where mockingbirds lived near a quarry they learned to imitate the bulldozers and trucks, amazing birds they are.

  4. Great truck rendering...you are an artist. Sometimes we forget that, don't we? Oh yes, I just reaped a bunch of great produce at our Tailgate this morning. So glad you are feeling better!

  8. I hope the pain continues to ease and the flexibility returns.
My mother's cockatoo used to imitate the dog up the road (and send it into a frenzy). It could also imitate my father's 'coming home' whistle.
