Repeat Customers

Not sure if this actually qualifies as a monoprint on clay because it's more of a direct print of leaves on clay. Still I like the print quality of the leaf impressions. The leaf colors in this large bowl will fire darker than they appear here. A good number of pottery sales at the local Trash to Treasures venue are from folks who've already purchased my pottery there. Many ask are you going to be here next week? I think folks like the fact they can "count" on someone being there consistently week after week.

Yesterday (I wasn't there) Gary said a woman probably in her 80's came by the booth again and remarked how she loved my pottery but couldn't afford any. I asked Gary which piece she was looking at. Gary said she was looking at one of my meditation bowls (above). I said to Gary he should have given her one. I told him I'd make up a gift note because giving her a piece of my pottery is worth more than any money I've ever made from selling my pottery. Sadly she wasn't there the next day. Perhaps she'll be there next week; I hope so. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  4. That's such a lovely meditation bowl, and you are right, the gift would be appropriate. I can't wait to see all your recent work fired up...hope your kiln works just fine. I sold a leaf imprinted mug today, with a gingko leaf not glazed at all on white clay, then shiny green glaze.

  5. I like the leaf prints in the large tray. The meditation bowl is sweet. The gesture to gift the bowl is very nice. When the lady has some funds to spend she will most likely return to your booth. Which, I know is NOT the reason you are doing this, but I'm pretty sure it will happen.

  6. Hi Elephant's Child, thanks, I hope I get to meet her in person.

Hi Barb, thanks, I can't wait to get all tyhis stuff fired, it's piling up.

Hi Barbara, thanks, I can make more pottery than I can sell so if someone can't afford it I don't mind giving it to them.

  7. You have a true artists heart...to give a piece of art to someone who loves it is to me what it is all about...to know someone wants your art because they love it and not just for decor makes me feel good.
