Yellow Birds and Rabbit in Tall Grass

I worked on a couple of platters the other day. This first is a couple of yellow birds, perhaps they are finches.

Here's a rabbit in tall grass. I can just imagine a rabbit hopping through some tall grass. I see I need to define his eye a little more. Below is a low vase which was going to be a business card holder but grew larger than I planned. After I added the sprig on the front I thought a square one would have looked good too but it was too late to exchange one for the other.

At the last farmer's market of the year I splurged on a goose for Thanksgiving. The goose is thawed out and ready for me to cook. Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. I really like your birds. I've never tasted goose. Is it very different from turkey?

  2. Hi Anna, thanks, hope the birds turn out nicely. I have no idea about the goose, since I've never had it either, the woman who raised them has only raised them this year, so we shall see how it turn out. I'll probably post about it so check back after Thanksgiving. I might make a goose platter to honor the goose for thanksgiving.

  4. I like the yellow birds; they're so cheery for this time of year! The rabbit reminds me of some of your Florida work. We used to have Goose for Christmas; it's all dark meat and very tasty. Unless we are having company we dow a duck now.
    Have a terrific Thanksgiving!
