Table Top, Window Sill, or Wall Flower Pots

These little flower pots with handles are very versatile I've found out. They can sit on a table top or window sill or be hung up with two nails. I use two nails hammered on an angle to keep them from rocking back and forth if the wind comes up. If flowers or a plant are in the pot then the nails wouldn't be visible and the weight would hold the pot down better. I supposed I could  use one of those cup hooks to hang them as well.

Here is the same pot sitting on a shelf; it can easily be picked up with the handle to be moved.

Here's the speckled lavender one. I call it speckled because the clay is speckled and the little black dots show through the transparent glaze. Have you glazed speckled stoneware or a darker clay with a transparent glaze?  I'd love to see other examples of this.

And here's the lavender one sitting on a shelf. I've got to make more of these with handles so I can photograph a row of them sitting on a window sill. I'm quite enamored of these demure flower pots with their various shapes and colors. I need to plant one with an herb or succulent to see how it looks. Oh a few more ideas about these has just popped into my head. More later.

I decided to pull my work out of the antique store. I did sell a few items there but there really isn't enough foot traffice to bear the expensive of paying for a booth. I'll be looking for other outlets to sell my work in the coming year. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  2. Hi Barb, thanks, trying to figure out how to put in the plants but not the dirt so I can still sell them, may have to be a plastic liner or maybe some foil or other type of liner to keep the pot clean and new.

  3. I suspect that some people would be happy to buy them WITH the plants as part of the package. So perhaps you could have one or two planted as part of your display...
