Betty Flew Away

It was warm day with lots of sunshine yesterday so we let all the cats outside to sun themselves. Betty was enjoying herself all day long. She knows her way home and has always come back meowing at the back door. But when nightfall came we called and called and she didn't come. We looked in the woods and under the decks and everywhere we could think of and she didn't come. We called her with her special call, a high pitched MEOW, meow, meow over and over again but no response. It didn't freeze last night but tonight it will. We hope she either shows up or has flown to kitty heaven.

Meanwhile Gary and I both have a terrible cough which is probably the flu but no aches and pains just complete exhaustion. It doesn't help we're worried about Betty now. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. That's such a lovely little kitten angel picture, but I do hope Betty comes home soon. And sending healing energies to you and Gary. Sorry you've been hit by one of the flu bugs out there.

  2. Hello Linda,

This is so distressing. We can imagine how worried you are, especially in the terribly cold weather. And, on top of it all, to be unwell.

Our thoughts are with you that all will be well and that Betty will return home safely.

    1. Hi Jane and Lance, thanks, so far she hasn't returned I fear she is gone to kitty heaven but sad to not know for sure. I hope I get well soon, this cough is debilitating.

  3. Hopefully Betty will turn up before the weather gets too cold. But even then, cats are pretty hardy and she may have found herself a safe place. Will keep her in my thoughts and pray that she comes home soon.

    1. Hi Keith, thanks, no cat to be seen or heard, and we are both still sick although Gary is improving better than I but he got this a week before me so I guess I have a longer haul to go.

    1. Hi Lori, thanks, our immediate neighbor is keeping an eye out for her but they are fenced and Gary has walked all around.

  12. Hopefully Betty will come home sooner than later. I read somewhere that female cats have a much broader territory that they sometimes like to cover than male cats do (even if they're spayed)...so perhaps she's just having a look around. I hope she's okay. :)

And I hope as I'm writing that you, too, are now okay, Linda. Take care. :)
