Cherry Blossoms

The cherry trees are just starting to blossom nearby. Perhaps you recall last year, (has it been that long), I was inspired to make a cherry tree bowl when I drove past our neighbor's cherry tree in bloom. Unfortunately, the cherry tree bowl had a hairline crack at the rim. When I tap the bowl it does have a nice ring to it. I can probably use the bowl myself.

I've had the bowl sitting around in the studio to remind me of how I made it. I plan to make another one, maybe a couple of them. I hope I can be successful this time.

Lately I feel my life is like Sisyphus destined to carry a stone uphill over and over again. Day before yesterday the leg I fell on wasn't doing well. It swelled up from the top to the bottom and I thought I might have a blood clot. I finally broke down and took a trip to the emergency room because I knew a blood clot was extremely dangerous. Well I don't have a blood clot but now I have a huge medical bill. I was hoping to avoid any medical bills till I'm eligible for Medicare but I'm three months shy. Meanwhile the water pump went out on Gary's car and then the master cylinder for the brakes. It seems like we just can't get ahead.  All I can say is thank goodness for cherry blossoms. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

I am very glad you don't have a blood clot though - and love your cherry tree bowl.

    1. Hi Michele, thanks I was wondering if a crack can adhere itself after firing as the crack is so much less visible than it origially was.

  5. That's too bad. When it rains, it pours.

  6. Great that you had no blood clot...and I hope whatever they did figure out about your leg is fixable easily and cheaply. The cherry bowl is beautiful, and of course you should use it. Too bad about car troubles on top of everything. You deserve the sunshine now!

  7. Hi Barb, thanks, they didn't really figure anything out about my leg and it's still swollen and I am so worried it will never be the same again. I keep hoping though.

  8. Linda, I am so sorry about your leg, but even moreso the horrid experience of an ER visit.. Having had a similar experience with my leg, and then the shock of the incredible amounts they can get away with charging. I am so outraged with the health care business!!! Happily, it wasn't a blood clot(mine was not either) but it must be something, right? Hoping for the best outcome for you.

The cherry bowl is lovely...if it has a nice ring when you tap it, you could just use it as a "singing bowl".. just a thought. HaHa

  9. Better the bill than the clot; but I know how hard the high bills are...and the feeling of taking one step forward and 10 back. I hope all get back on track with you soon...take good care.

I love the cherry blossom plate, Linda. :)
