Eames Style - Ekornes Stressless Recliner

After a little over a year in our home here in the Georgia mountains we're still decorating and working on various projects. Yesterday we went to an estate sale and thought we couldn't go wrong with this black leather Eames style lounger in perfect condition. Gary sat in chair and said it was extremely comfortable. The price was right so we decided to purchase the chair.

As we carried the chair out to our car we noticed the bent wood details. The homeowners said their father originally ordered the chair in an extra wide version. That width makes the chair even more comfortable. With a little research I discovered the chair is an Ekornes stressless recliner chair with a footstool. When I saw the price of these chairs new, I was happy as a lark. It seems there's a bargain around every corner, I just have to look. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. Hi Dennis, thanks, they had two but we got to the sale 1/2 an hour late otherwise we would have had two matching, well one black and one beige.

  4. It looks perfect for putting your poor sore knee up in. Up in? A complicated sentence but you know what I mean.

  5. That chair is awesome! It's exactly the kind of chair my hubby loves. I've hoped to find one, second hand of course, that I could afford for him. Great score you guys!

    1. Hi Michele, thanks, check out the link for the maker, as they have numerous styles I think the Eames is still made by Herman Miller.

  7. Great chair! When I was younger, I used to stay with a friend in NY state for a month and she had a pair of them. We spent all night watching TV in them. Great chairs. Your back will thank you!
    (Great score!)
