Even Cats Enjoy a View

Gary got a shot of Butter enjoying the view one day when I was laid up.

Another day I captured the fog layers entering the valley below us.

As soon as the sun gets a little higher the fog will burn off.

Here's the rooster planter prototype. Next time I'll leave off the wing appendages and I'll place the head a bit higher and more upright. This planter could be for a plant that doesn't need drainage because I didn't put a hole in the bottom; although I guess I could have. What do you think?  For indoor plants I use a layer of gravel and some horticultural charcoal in the bottom. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  3. Someone could put a plastic liner pot inside it that has drain holes. The problem with holes in the pot is that it then needs a try to catch the run off... although the rooster on a platter might be pretty cool.

You are so fortunate to have such a beautiful view.

  4. Hi Michele, thanks, good idea about the liner. I was thinking the planter might look better without a plate. I never tire of the view, keeps me dreaming ha.

  5. Loving your view and your rooster. And of course cats like to look at the view. My partner used to carry one of our cats around the house to look out the windows from a different perspective. I don't know whether the person or the cat enjoyed it more.

  7. My two furry rascals love sitting at the window above my bed...they use me as their launching and landing pad...even though my bed is king-size with ample room for them to do either...they get a thrill from using me for those purposes! I can see the mischievous glint in their eyes every time...I'm no fool. (Yes...I am...and I am a big softie, too, obviously...because I let them get away with it)! :)

  8. Hi Lee, thanks isn't that just the way of cats to take advantage of the situation for their own use. Ha.
