Vintage Lava Lamp

We did quite well at the Trash to Treasures sale on Friday. We sold mostly pottery and a few odds and ends. In a booth nearby I spotted this vintage lava lamp and decided to purchase it. I guess that's a drawback to the sale - finding something to buy and reducing our take home. Gary and I both like turquoise so I couldn't resist the lamp. It will look good in our new basement room.

Apparently this lava lamp was called the Enchantress Planter Lava Lamp. Originally it would have come with plastic flowers. I think I'll find some turquoise marbles or stones to put in the tray. A local garden shop asked me to stop in and see if I'd like to put some of my pottery in their store on consignment. Next week I'll stop in there and check it out. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. Shades of my misspent youth! I had several of them in my various apartments. How cool to see one again and in such a pretty color!

  2. I love the turquoise! I never saw one with the "planter" base. Stones or marbles are great idea... much better than plastic flowers :-)

    1. Hi Michele, thanks, I never saw one like this either, I had to search the google images to find even one to learn it's name; I think this was made in the early 1970s. Ha.
