Firing Bells & Bell Parts

Finally I got around to loading my kiln. Much of the load is taken up with bells and bell parts.

For each bell I think I have four beads, three top beads, a bead at the top inside, and a clapper, and then a wind sail. That's a lot of beads. For a couple of the wind sails I forget to make a hole. Hopefully I can drill them after the bisque. We shall see. Now I have to figure out if I am going to use a bead tree to fire the beads or just leave them unglazed. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  2. I love to see your loaded kiln. Since I don't have one myself and don't do the loading at the school, it is interesting. And I've wondered about *bead trees* myself... do you have one? If so, what does it look like? I generally glaze only one side of my jewelry, but am curious...

    1. Hi Rian, thanks, stay tuned I do have a bead tree I got years ago and never used it, so I will be using it with some of these but it may be a week before I load as we are expecting some storms and for the glaze load it takes 16 hours and so I can only fire when there are no storms predicted. I'll have to read up on how to use the tree.
