Blueberry Monday

It's Blueberry Monday. Look at all the blueberries we got from bushes we planted last year, amazing.

There's Gary picking the blueberries. It took him about ten minutes to pick this many blueberries.

Here's one of the small blueberry plants and it's loaded with berries. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. We’ve been enjoying some fresh blueberries from our bushes but not nearly as many as you have. Well done.

    1. Hi Lori, thanks, I have barely paid attention to them. although if it doesn't rain we do give them some water and last year I sprinkled slow release fertilizer on them.

  2. Those are sure prolific little bushes! Great job. What are you going to do, or just eat them as they are?

    1. Hi Barbara, thanks, we'll eat these, our freezer is full of ones our neighbor gave us from last year.

  3. I told my sister it was a tough choice between planting blueberries and raspberries, and she said she's glad I picked raspberries as she doesn't like blueberries.

    1. Hi Joanne, thanks, I like both berries, blueberries are easier to pick since they have no thorns; I think I might plant some raspberries since the volunteer one growing in the wall isn't doing that well, the berries are very small. I think it's too hot there for them.

  4. Linda, I really like blueberries, but sometimes the ones we buy aren't sweet. I've been waiting for the season to progress before buying them at Central Market... and they do freeze very well. In fact, I like popping the frozen berries into my mouth!

  5. Hi Rian, thanks, yes they are so easy to freeze, I like that I can just pick these and eat them without washing because I know they don't have any pesticides on them. I think many fruits are picked too early so they can make it market and they don't get to develop their true sweetness.

  6. Yum. Isn't it wonderful when you find just the right spot for a plant.
