Bowls, Vases and Leaf Dishes

Here are more pieces from this firing. This first is one of the multi colored bowls. These are really difficult to photograph because the texture really reflects the light.

Another large bowl with handles. These multi colored bowls with the black underglaze really darken up in the firing. I think next time I'll try making one without black underglaze and see what happens. These both have the shiny black glaze on the underside and on the edges.

This vase is actually more green than gold.

Same with this one, my camera color is way off.

This is fairly true to color but would you believe this is the same glaze as the large blue bowl I made a week or so ago. Every firing is different it seems.

This vase is more lavender than it appears in the photograph.

This leaf is two glazes overlapped and in person it has a lot of depth.

This leaf has the same glaze as the large blue bowl from a week or so ago.

This one is a little muddy in color but interesting. Meanwhile I've just finished another bisque which I'll unload this morning. I am hoping to get the glaze in quickly so I'll have more new work for the market this week. We shall see if the weather cooperates. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. If you can use a polarizing filter for your camera it should cut down on that glare.

  3. Busy times. Ahead and behind.
I hope the markets go well. It must be such a relief to have a permanent spot though.
