My New Favorite Glaze

Here's another medium bowl glazed in the same glaze as the last one that turned out so beautifully. The last one was made with speckled clay and this one with white stoneware. Click back to see the difference on two different clay bodies. More blue in the last one, more gold in this one. This one was on the bottom shelf of the kiln and the other one on the top shelf.

This is my new favorite glaze. It has blue, brown and gold colors. What would  you call this glaze? Stay tuned for more new work as soon as I get photos taken. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. It is nice. Did you make it or is it a commercial glaze?

  2. Hi Lori, thanks, it's three glazes overlapped and combined.

  3. Looks to me like a combination of slate, tamaku, and celedon. And yes, I like the glaze on both these bowls!

    1. Hi Rian, thanks, no celadon, no slate and no tenmoku,; it's a rutile, a brown, and a gold glaze,

  4. Wonderful combination...and your shape really sets of the different tones. I know it's more beautiful than any photo can show.

    1. Hi Barb, thanks, you know no matter how good I try to take the photos, bowls are really hard to capture all the nuances of the glazes.
