Farmer's Market Booth Photos

Finally I remembered to bring my camera. Here are some photos of my booth at the farmer's market. Lots of customers and sales again this week. Thank you to all my new collectors.

Somewhat difficult to get an overall photo with all the customers; not complaining though.

The new display shelves are working out wonderfully. They allow more groups of folks to mingle in the booth since they aren't as wide as the tables we were previously using.

The shelves have lots of open space and room for large and small items. I intersperse a variety of price points on each shelf hoping to cover every individual's budget.

The locking shelf mechanism at the top really makes the shelf system very sturdy.

Finally a break in the crowds. This month I plan to add a banner with my name at the front of the booth. Every month I squeeze a small upgrade into my budget to improve my display. Last month we got a set of fold up director's chairs and the two new shelf systems. I'm also looking into carrying note cards of photos I've taken of local architecture, flora, and fauna. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  5. Lovely shelves, how does the locking mechanism work? There are 2 folded sets of vertical standards, which the shelves sit upon...I want these! Is there a plan anywhere? Of course we don't have a level ground at our Tailgate market...so probably they wouldn't work there...but I still think they are the cat's pajamas!

  6. Hi Barbara, thanks, since the top shelf is slid between two guides and the uprights are opened till then stop the shelf system doesn't seem to rock as much. My last shelves had the top shelf perched on top not slid between two guides, it really does make a difference. I took 2 x 8s and cut them in thirds since 2 x 2s are lighter weight and you can't used two screws to attach the dividers to. To make it lighter weight I should have used 2 x 2s on all the dividers (place where the shelf sits) except the top and bottom ones. uses 2.5 inch screws to attach. shelves are 1 x 12 white wood (which at HD they said was ponderosa pine which is better than just plain pine). If you don't have level ground you can use wood shims under the bottom to level them out. hope this helps, any more info needed let me know, thanks just the shelves cost $73 plus the lumber, screws, and hinges, not cheap but worth it in the long run.

  7. Your booth looks more and more professional. It's beautiful. It's the same system my friend Linda has used for her rugs for the last thirty years, except hers does not have that slot at the top. Brilliant! She uses one more bank across the back, setting them up a foot shorter, so she has three display sides and she works from the open space at the back.

  8. Hi Joanne, thanks, I added the card table at the back so I can set the pottery down and wrap it up with bubble wrap, behind the tables I have three bins stacked on top of one another and the top one has bags and and another bin has pre-cut bubble wrap, streamlines the process.

  11. You certainly are a busy girl, Linda! Are many breakages...meaning caused by the public accidentally dropping or knocking any of the items off the shelves?

    The shelving looks great.

  12. Hi Lee, thanks, so far no breakages at all; although unpacking this past time Gary dropped one in the box and it broke, first time though so not bad.
