Commissions and Leaf Colors

Visitors to my booth this past Saturday saw a blue and black plate I made months ago and wanted one like it but with red instead of  blue. They liked seeing the brush strokes of the plate they saw. Red can be so fickle; we shall see how this one turns out.

Meanwhile finally it was a sunny day so I took some photos of the few leaves remaining on the trees.

This particular maple tree was ablaze with so many wonderful hues of peach, orange and red.

The wind was blowing so the photos may not be in focus.

Here's a tall oak with the last of it's red and yellow leaves.

An errant leaf on the driveway just after Gary blew the leaves. We are really enjoying the mild weather and long Autumn we're having. The kiln is cooling off so hopefully I'll have some results to show you tomorrow, so stay tuned. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. That is such a pretty plate. I hope the red glaze is successful.
Have you thought of making a chip and dip set?

    1. Hi Gigi, thanks, I just thought of that the other days because someone picked up one of my ribbon vases and put it on a flat tray and called it a gravy boat and bought both of them, who knew.

  3. The foliage is beautiful. Leaves are turning quickly here now... not looking forward to blowing and raking. We have been fortunate for a long and warm Autumn. Still haven't had to turn on the heat... which is definitely a money saver.
