Herbal Vinegar

Since I am a firm believer in using herbs in cooking I thought I'd try my hand at making herbal vinegar. Why I didn't think of this in the summer is beyond me. I guess I was busy with other projects. I have one empty bottle sitting on the counter to try my first mixture. I've been reading that fresh herbs should be used, not dried or powdered otherwise the mixture will be cloudy. Now when it warms up today I'll pick something from the garden. Except today it won't warm up at all. As with many things timing is everything and I've missed the mark this week due to the cold. I might sneak outside later today and pick a few sprigs. More later. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

    1. Hi Turquoisemoon, thanks, yes fancy vinegars are so expensive I might as well try to make some myself. They look so pretty in the bottles too.

  3. I used to work in a shop where the proprietor sold herbal products, many from her garden. If you can imagine raspberry/jalapeno jelly, she did crazy things like that. She did a lot of herbal vinegars. Her web site is crookedriverherbfarm.org. Her name is Kathleen. Tell her I said Hi.

  5. Your herb vinegar varieties will be delicious, I'm sure. I can already taste them! And, you know I love vinegar...and I love fresh herbs.

How can you go wrong with those two wonderful ingredients? You can't! :)
