Flea Market Find For ?

Last week at the flea market I picked up this stand. I plan to use it to hang my bells for the farmer's market. It will have to be strapped to one of the pillars to make it more stable.

Plates could be placed in the rack slots but it was probably made for framed art or prints. What do you think it was actually made for? It would make a nice permanent wall mounted plate rack. Should I paint it or leave it with the green and gold patina?

Each week vendors from the farmer's market are featured in the local newspaper and this week I was featured with a nice write up. We are gearing up for the first farmer's market on Saturday. Unfortunately it may rain later in the morning but at least we have a covered booth. We now have wood director's chairs. I'll have to remember to take photos to show. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  3. I vote for no paint too! I think it was designed for art or plates or a combo. You will get a lot of use out of it.

    1. Hi Michele, thanks, it is lightweight but sturdy but it will need some supporting so it won't be top heavy.

  5. The monthly market is on at the showgrounds here tomorrow...it's been raining here since last night so I think it will still be quite wet and soggy tomorrow, too.

  7. I'm late to read this post, but my first thought on viewing the photo, was I hope she doesn't paint it. HaHa. It has that celadon green that is my favorite color. What a great find indeed Linda. You will make great use of it for display I'm sure!
