A Blue Bunny and an Old Chair

One day at our local flea market I saw an old ladder back chair which needed a seat. Gary planted the chair the turquoise color we previously used for our planters. I put a coconut basket in the seat section planted with petunias and other flowing flowers. The chair is at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the deck.

We had a cast metal bunny we've saved from our previous homes. The bunny was rusty and the welds had white debris. We decided to paint the bunny and placed him by our lower door. Now a blue bunny welcomes visitors to our home. A little whimsy in the garden is a great way to light up any space. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. Love the "planted" chair! I have similar chair I have been meaning to paint since the move last year...winter project maybe?

  2. Hi Michele, thanks, Gary used that same spray paint we used for the pots to paint the chair and bunny, super easy; I could see you putting a big pot (one that cracked) out by your mail box with flowers flowing out of it

  4. Hi Gigi, thanks, with the dark brown decks and lower level exterior paint the turquoise really is a nice contrast.

  6. I absolutely love what you did with the chair, Linda! Such a creative way to turn an old chair into something charming. The turquoise color is gorgeous - both on the chair and the bunny. Oh, and the flowers look stunning in their new home.
