Sunny Sunday

Sunny Sunday to you. So far today it's sunny, but later today and all this week we are supposed to get some much needed rain. We are way down and in a three to four month drought compared to normal rainfall. This season at the farmer's market sales are off more than fifty percent from last year. These numbers are informally obtained from the art and craft vendors at my local market. Food and vegetable sales are also off, but only fifteen or twenty percent down.

My pottery booth is located between a gluten free food vendor and a farmer. Sometimes it isn't easy seeing the sales they are making compared to my own. The good news this week is Gary went to the flea market on Friday and sold the most he ever has. Most of the items he sold were drastically discounted from what they would cost new. Nowadays for most families disposable income is less than it ever has been and most folks are looking to save as much money as they can. I have a couple of ideas to increase sales, we shall see. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. I hope you get that much needed rain - and that the sunflowers of optimism continue to grow in your world.
