Big Leaves & Drying on Open Grid Shelves

Summer is fast approaching and I've launced into high speed. Yesterday I made these four big leaves. They are 9 x 12 inches; the biggest I've made thus far. As I was making these I thought about making a leaf as large as one of my kiln shelves. Today I'm going to try that.

When I dry my work I place pieces on wallboard/sheetrock on an open shelf. I usually cover the work with a dry cleaning bag placed lightly over the top to keep edges from drying out too quickly. I have several of these open grid rolling carts in my studio.

When my work starts overflowing I use these plastic open grids to dry work on. This time of year my studio is filled on every shelf and all over the floor with work that is drying. Using the open grid shelving helps air circulate under the wallboard and the work dries more evenly. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
