Sanding Bisque Inexpensively

Here are the inexpensive sanding pads I use. I get both the green and tan ones in a package at the grocery store. I cut them up to fit my hand for plate edges. I use long and narrow pieces for hard to reach spots. I even taped a piece of one to a chopstick to reach inside pieces like vases. The green ones are my favorite type. Not sure of the name since the package is long gone, but you can easily find them at a your local grocery. Be sure to wear a mask and work in a well ventilated area if you sand bisque, silica dust is toxic.

Meanwhile I loaded the kiln this morning. This is the bottom shelf. You can see the size of the larger leaves when they are photographed next to other work.

This is the middle shelf. I refer to these photos when I do the glaze load which enables me to know which pieces to glaze first and how to load them. Once I get a shelf glazed I like to put them in the kiln and close the lid to keep dust off of them. I forgot to take a photo of the top shelf but I can do that when I open the kiln. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
