Butter Dishes

To my eye this aqua butter dish turn out the best. It's a bit large though. The bubble wrap texture looks like honeycomb. I like having the handles on the tray because I can pick up the tray easier and I think they would make passing the butter at the table much easier. I might adapt the handles on the side to just tabs which raise up from the tray slightly. Those would be less likely to break.

The lavender butter dish turned out just a tad too small and the cover is slightly warped inwards on one side. The handle on the top doesn't seem to fit I'll make a few more with various handles to see which ones I like best. I think a knob style would be better. Maybe a T shaped handle.

The cover on this one needs to be a bit wider and perhaps the tray as well. Luckily I still have my measurements on these.

This green butter dish is the one I knew the handle had warped inwards. As I suspected the lid won't fit. Back to the drawing board. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. Poor you; I've had so much long distance input. I wish the tray were flat; no edges. That many less opportunities to nick the butter. I like all of these, though.

    1. Hi Joanne, thanks, I thought you said a slight edge, I'll have to try a flat one but flat pieces are so hard to pick up off of a flat surface?

  3. They are looking good, despite being a work in progress. I like the slight edge too. Curved outwards (a teeny bit) works for me.
