Lots of Glazing To Do

Remember yesterday I said I like the square toothpick holders better than the round ones. There is something endearing about these tiny square boxes. Everything turned out ok in the bisque.

Pinch bowls stacked up and ready to glaze. I started glazing yesterday and hope to finish all of the kiln load today.

And more than a handful of leaf dishes. I try to have a variety of colors for these so it takes a while to glaze them.

Work is piled up everywhere in the studio. I found a small nook beside my photo cube to fit the three butter dishes. Joanne was correct about the handles not being needed for the tray. One of the handles actually is a bit too close to the top. We shall see how that works out. The rounded butter dishes have a fair amount of stress in wanting to go back to the flat shape. Hope they hold up in the glaze firing. Now to decide what color to glaze them. Probably something transparent since they have texture I'd like to enhance.

Oh the vases turned out just fine. One the base is too narrow and it's a bit tippy wonder if I can add a wood base after firing? We shall see. The clock faces turned out but the one I made the mistake on the number of leaves the former extra leaf impressions are visible so I may not glaze that one and just the other. The frost is on the pumpkin this morning. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. Looking good. Tell those butter dish tops to hang together, if they know what's good for them.

    1. Hi Barbara, thanks, I need to form to drape the rounded slabs over; I just remembered I have a fondant form, that may work, will see on the next butter dish making round.

    1. Hi Lee, thanks I should have been doing all this work all along but never thought we'd be able to go on a vacation, now I have to hurry because Gary has already left and is down there now; I need to catch up to him real soon.
