Pepper Harvest

This is a bowl chock full of shishito peppers harvested today. The bowl is overflowing with peppers and there are literally tens of peppers to feast upon. Shishito peppers are mild and tasty and particularly delicious roasted. Tomorrow will be pepper roasting and eating day. Supposedly these peppers contain 170 % of vitamin C needed for human diets.
These are garden salsa peppers. I read that they are extremely hot. We shall see how I utilize these. I thought mistakenly garden salsa denoted a somewhat mild pepper. I am curious what I will find about these specimens.
These are carmen peppers, supposedly a mild pepper for salads and eating. I might have jumped the gun and harvested them before their prime as red, but we shall see. Had another good day at the market Saturday, was supposed to rain but it rained overnight and then cleared up. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. They look so similar and pack a very different punch it seems. Glad that the market went well.

  2. Hi Sue, thanks, yes similar but not the same and I was very careful not to mix them up so I don't get surprised by the hot ones.
