I also have some peppers full size but not red yet. Eggplant however is not doing much yet. I used to grow tomatoes in the East Bay and canned thirty quarts a year I think I used early girl and better boy and patio tomatoes and they did pretty well and the cluster tomatoes for just eating. I even got a cantaloupe to ripen once but just one. Years ago I used to can 30 quarts of homegrown tomatoes a year and make dishes with my own canned tomatoes which were delicious.

Hi Michele, thanks, we have lots of wild flowers growing in the yard, I missed some blue ones I wanted to show everyone, darn.

Hi Barbara, thanks, I got the plant at home depot and they were starts from Bonnie plant farm which supplies a lot of the big box stores with vegetable plants, I always look for the unusual varieties to plant.

Hi Joanne, thanks, they were new to me too, and glad I got them

Hi Gigi, thanks, I was kind of hoping they tasted like chocolate, but I think that refers to their color, maybe they'd be good dipped in chocolate, decadent hey?

Hi Marguerite, thanks, yep been a great growing season this year with no frost.

Hi Ms. Sparrow, thanks, I never heard of them either and at first I thought they were raspberries, but they aren't and they are not black berries either so I looked it up and saw that dewberries grow wild here so I think that's what they are. I hope I don't take that long to heal, yikes.

Hi Meredith, thanks, I too love home grown tomatoes of all types, each one has a different flavor.

Hi Patti, thanks, see Barbara's comment above I got them at Home depot or walmart I think.

Hi Amy, thanks, I used to do that too but with all the bird droppings and the fact that the squirrels get into the vegetable garden I'd better wash them now.Linda Starrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04364078667554676592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7184126423669640998.post-38941863330133475082012-05-14T22:59:45.865-04:002012-05-14T22:59:45.865-04:00Congrats on the tomatoes!
