Frost or Snow

Normally in winter when I look out my kitchen window I see snow on the tops of the Sierra Mountains in the distance. But I might be seeing snow a lot closer by the weekend. There is a potential for snow down to the 1000 ft elevation here in Springville by Saturday. If you haven't done so already, now is a good time to wrap your water pipes and protect your tender plants from freezing winter temperatures.

  1. great view!
And I too am only 5'2' I know the issues.
When I shop I have been known to hunt down tall young men to "reach" things for me. Of course being short, and over 50 they are usually helpful.

  5. Linda - that vista is amazing! We might get some snow in Atlanta tonight. It's been raining for days & now could turn to snow. It's too warm for it to stick. This has been a crazy fall/winter.

  6. Hi Meredith, nowadays they call me vertically challenged, I don't like it but I guess it's true. My husband is 6'2" - so we are mutt and jeff when seen together. He puts everything on the top shelf in the refrigerator, tehe.

Hi Gary, the baby rattlesnales are hopefully hibernating right now. The view can get a little obscured from the pyracantha getting out of bounds, but a few snips here and there and voila - a better view again.

I just love it when it snows it is so quiet and calming.

Hi Emily, I am appreciating what surrounds me more this year.

Hi Judy, yes the weather the last few years has been unpredictable in much of the country. I'm trying to go with the flow and protect some of my tender plants at the same time - like my lemon grass, citrus, and succulents.
