When I look into the forest surrounding my home I see vines growing every which way. Many of the vines travel up even the tallest trees and eventually make it to the top. Seeing all those vines has given me a lot of twining inspiration. This piece is about twelve inches tall. Not sure what to call it. Not that it needs a name, but I'm sure someone will ask me. I can hear them say, "What is it?" I'll say, "It's a vine and a flower reaching for the sun".
This vine is virginia creeper or Parthenocissus quinquefolia. I'm also working out the details for a garden totem which fits together so I can make a really tall piece. Here's a link to a couple of glass totems which I made for my lavender gardens years ago. My ideas keep growing and twining much like these vines.
Oh gee, look at the bark texture on that oak tree. See what I mean! More later, thanks for reading and for all your comments.
