My Kitchen Disappeared

My kitchen disappeared.

This is what it used to look like; back soon with the updated one.

In case you missed the previous post, here is a bouquet of Cherokee roses in my wall pocket. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  5. Well, that's going backwards one step, but I'll bet soon it will be two steps forward. I've never made wall pockets and it looks so sweet. A challenge now to add to my list of "to do's." So happy to hear from you almost every day that I post...please come see me sometime this summer! I'd love for you to see the Black Mountain studio and for the folks there to meet you!

  6. Hi Elephant's Child, thanks, oh it's going quicker than we thought.

Hi Jane and Lance, thanks, I couldn't stand having three blind cabinets with no storage.

Hi Suzi, thanks, I made a large casserole of food and we move the microwave back in to heat it up. I am washing the dishes on a table outside and using the stove to heat up some water, ha.

Hi Lori, thanks, too busy but will be worth it in the end.

Hi Barbara, thanks, oh I think wall pockets would sell well, bring along some silk flowers to demonstrate them and I think they'd fly off the shelf and they don't take that long to make or glaze. I will definitely get up there this summer, you can come to visit us anytime once we get the kitchen done and it'll be sooner than later.

  8. Hi Marguerite, thanks, oh it's going to be well worth it getting rid of those blind cabinets with no reachable storage. I hope to make some more wall pockets and perhaps some flower pots too.

  9. Doesn't it make you wonder who decided on that original design? I am sure you and Gary are going to make much better use of the space.

  10. I think I told you before that the kitchen in my Idaho house is almost identical, right down to that gingerbread trim over the window. High cupboards, that a 5'4" gal can only reach the bottom shelves. Looking forward to your finished remodel.

  11. Hi Michele, thanks, I think a lot of the houses were cabins and not much thought went into the kitchens.

Hi Barbara, thanks, I am getting the tall cabinets but will put what is only used occasionally in the top shelf, soon to be completed.
