A couple of years ago (has it been that long) I made this large (14 inches tall) Christmas tree luminary. I made this one with an overlapping strips of clay construction method.
At the time I planned on making some smaller luminaries with slabs. This past week I finally got around to making a few. I plan to make a few more in varying heights. These are about six inches tall and are large enough to place a votive candle or a battery operated tea light.
I made the plates separately and they've dried more quickly, hence the lighter color in this photo. This year my goal is to make a range of price points in clay pieces, hence these smaller luminaries. One more day working at the fair and it's back to working in the studio again. Thankfully my shoulder is much better; I'll have to be more careful from now on. This morning though we're expecting high winds and lots of rain, hope no trees fall down. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.
