Powder Room

I almost forgot to post the last of the scenes from Fort Clinch, one of the most well preserved 19th century forts in the country.

During the 1930s the Civilian Conservation Corp began preserving and rebuilding many of the structures of the abandoned fort.

No battles were fought here but it was garrisoned during the Civil and Spanish American wars.

For more about Fort Clinch, check out the previous two posts here and here.

  1. dont know why i'm thinking of F troop??

  2. That really is an amazingly restored fort. You kind of feel like everyone just stepped out.
Perhaps we need to reactivate the CCC to give people constructive work.

  3. Hi Ang, thanks, yeah kind of reminds you of that, but then again a little earlier in time.

Hi Patti, thanks, yeah the CCC might bring us out of the doldrums here in the US, hope something changes or does.

I love suggestions, questions, critiques, thanks for your comment
