Anza Borrego Desert

Welcome to the desert. Here's a few photos to enjoy of a trip we took to the Anza Borrego Desert a few years ago. I'll bet the desert is wonderful this year with all the rain they've had.

You have to look closely in the desert or you'll miss the details.

I might have to print this door close up for my bulletin board.

There's lots to see if you take a walk around.

The ocotillo has one tiny red blossom.

Desert skies are wonderful during the day but also at night.

A bit of moisture, probably none hit the ground.

After the storm passes by.

The bark of the palo verde tree.

We planned our trip in Spring to take advantage of the desert blooms.

My photographs are copyrighted, but I sell them. See the photos for sale link at the top of the page for details.

That's it, hope you enjoyed this vacation to the desert via photographs. Up next a flower cart and a cow, so please stay tuned.

  1. I had a friend who once camped in the Anza-Borrego desert and I wrote a poem about it. I'll have to dig it out. I miss the spring desert so thank you for giving me an opportunity to visit it via your photos. Love the top one. Gates and old trucks are easy to love, aren't they?

So you're going to blow up the car door for your bullet-in board.... :)

  2. Love the pic of the truck... I've never been there, so thanks for sharing such wonderful pictures.

  3. Gorgeous pics. I love the texture of the tree and the old truck. The colors are intriguing on that truck door.

  4. Great pics! I've never been to a dessert. It's really quite beautiful and that truck pic is cool!

  5. I'm a snowbird and spend 3-4 months every winter in Borrego. We have a lovely little outdoor pottery studio there so definitely come visit if you ever go again. I also hike and go 4-wheeling so could show you some very beautiful places. I have a lot of photos on my FB page. Did you stay in the state park?

  6. How wonderful to see someplace dry. Thanks for the virtual trip.

  7. Hi Teresa, thanks, I hope you post that poem, I love that desert, one of the best; bullet-in board, ha, I missed that good one.

Hi Turquoisemoon, thanks, if you ever get a chance that desert is the best place to go in early Spring.

Hi Mary, thanks, I didn't realize how intriquing the colors were till I blew up that photo, I need to use that photo somewhere, I have some ideas now.

Hi Marguerite, thanks, the desert is quite meditative, Gary has always said he wanted to live in silver trailer in the desert as I get older I am starting to appreciate that comment more and more.

Hi Growin Granny, thanks and welcome, we stayed in the state park, yes, other times we camped and traveled up canyons, we had a motorhome one time we stayed there too. An outdoor pottery studio how cool, I made pottery in my motorhome before we moved here to Florida, perhaps I will again, I'll check your FB page. Hope you come back here again.

Hi Patti, thanks, the desert is dry, but supposedly under the sand there is often times water hidden from view.

  8. Growin Granny, how do I get to your FB page? I can't find anything on your blogger profile?

  9. You are breathing in my heaven.... I miss it. It is very beautiful.

  10. Hi Zygote, thanks, yes that places is heaven for sure.

  11. Hi Linda, you can find me on Facebook by searching for Harley Lady or If that doesn't work let me know and I'll give you a direct link to my photo albums.

  12. Hi Growin' Granny, thanks, there are five harley lady's on facebook, not sure which one to friend. maybe you can friend me under my name, Linda Starr.
