Trays and Boxes and Cats and Such

This week in pottery class my students are working on trays and boxes. A few more flowers are blooming in my garden but I neglected to take the photos. It's been unseasonably hot here and I've had a time keeping the flowers alive watering twice a day till they get established. But in the end I know I'll be rewarded. I finally got the squash and beans planted and the tomatoes are getting much larger. Soon I hope to have some beauties to show you.

In other news my little Betty cat is keeping me occupied. She sleeps all day unless I hold her and she forgets to eat or drink. So I put her by her food and water bowl and take her outside every so often. I think she has dementia. Betty is the only cat I have left, other than Barney the neighborhood cat. Butter was eaten by a bobcat or coyote and Binky passed away from cancer. I guess we're all getting old around here. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  2. We've had frequent rain (most of the time) so my garden hasn't required a lot of work yet. I just rescued a begonia that was getting sunburned, since I don't have any outside that doesn't get full sun. It's now indoors. Pet Betty for me.

    1. Hi Barbara, thanks, we've hardly had any rain so it's pretty dry here. Betty says hi.

  3. We've had ample rain, but that is sure to change. I like clay baskets; I have a couple in my collection.

  5. What pretty cat Betty is...the dear little thing. Give her a cuddle for me...and a couple from Remy and Shama, too. :)

Your pottery tray would look wonderful filled with blooms. :)

    1. Hi Lee, thanks, Betty has always been the Queen Bee and now she seems to languish around, I hope she improves. I hope to have some blooms to put in some baskets by summer's end.

  6. Betty's so pretty! Sorry she's ailing. . . cuddles from me, too. (Maybe she has thyroid issues.) Brutally hot and so little rain here, save for what came with a couple of electrical storms. One hit the heat pump even though it was turned off.

  7. Hi Kittie, thanks, oh that's terrible the lightening hit the heat pump, hope it wasn't fried, I hope none hits ours as our budget won't allow any mishaps for the near future.
