Farm Fresh Fare

Here's what I got at the farmer's market yesterday. Three best things about the market, close to our home (plus I'm already there selling pottery), fresh local produce (supporting my local economy) and much less expensive than the grocery. I see fresh tomato soup this week.

These bell peppers are the size of three at the grocery store.

Can't wait to taste these potatoes.

This bunch of green onion's greens are so huge,  I'm sure they're very healthy.

But now what to do with all these beets, especially since Gary doesn't like them. Hum, any ideas?

I might make scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning. Thanks for reading and for all your comments.

  1. Not only less expensive it almost always tastes miles better than the plastic produce...
You can make a chocolate cake using beetroot. Would that suit him better?

  3. Your areas appears to be similar to this here where I live. Here abounds in fresh produce within arm's reach, too. :)

  4. Your veggie pics are beautiful, Linda. As for the beets... my grand daughter (she's 15 didn't like beets either until I fixed some right out of the garden by simply cutting them into fours, boiling them until tender, and then serving them mixed with a little 'browned butter'. Now she likes them. Might be worth a try?
