Guess What? My blog, Blue Starr Gallery, was chosen for the Kreative Blogger award by Fine Mess Pottery. Lori is an inspiration to me with her thoughtful posts about the ins and outs of being a successful potter in the world today and her creative spirit. The rules are to pass the Kreativ Blogger award on to five (5) other blogs you feel are deserving and let them know, so here are my choices. It wasn't easy for me to choose; these are five of the many artist's blogs which inspire me. If you haven't visited these blogs be sure to check them out, in fact check out all the blogs on my blog list and if you have a blog which isn't on my list, please let me know:
Amy's Clay Ventures - Amy is a very talented potter who does wonderful slip decorated pieces and also makes beautiful yuonomi, not only that but Amy takes time to encourage me too. Amy also has an Amy's Etsy Store where you can purchase her wonderful pottery.
Artmaking in the North - Cindy hails from Alaska and is a versatile and talented sculptor who works in metal, clay and so many other mediums. Be sure to see Cindy's latest sculpture, a Cosmic Tabernacle posted on her blog.
Clay Garden - Barbara has inspired me more than once and most recently with her post about throwing with clay. Since I mostly hand build too, I would like to practice more throwing. Be sure to scroll through Barbara's posts to see her head sculptures and her mosaics which are wonderful.
Joanne Mattera Art Blog - Joanne is a wonderful painter who works with encaustic painting which is a medium I would one day like to try. Be sure to check out her blog to see her wonderful art and read her great tips for artists on her posts, Marketing Mondays.
Peter's Pottery - Peter works with clay in New Zealand and makes wonderfully expressive pots and has such beautiful glazes. Be sure to check out his bronze shino, ooh la la. And while you're visiting Peter's blog be sure to check his wife Laura's blog to see her unique paintings. Wish they lived around the corner I'd be visiting them often to see their great art and also because their studio is in a wonderful old post office building.
You're all chosen as Kreativ Bloggers and also tagged; I'm looking forward to seeing which blogs you choose for an award.
Today I'm featuring an antique climbing rose from 1879, Madame Alfred Carriere, which has a wonderful fragrance. This rose is climbing over my garden storage shed. Antique roses are a good choice since many are naturally disease resistant and retain the rose fragrance we love. Have a wonderful day.
Linda, as always you are kind and so supportive of others. Thank you for thinking of me ;o)

ReplyDeleteI wanted to nominate every blog I visit on a regular basis, but I could only nominate five - which was ver hard for me to narrow it down.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, congratulations.
Hi Gary, thanks.
ah, gosh, thanks, Linda. It's been a joy to get to know you through blogging. Wish CA was closer to NC. peace~
ReplyDeleteHi Amy, you're so welcome. I have another surprise for you coming up. I did another barrel firing today! I can see the pots in the bottom of the barrel, but it is too hot to get them out. Darn, I've got to wait till tomorrow. Maybe I'll go down and take another photo of the bottom of the barrel before the sun sets.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, thoughtful person you are Linda, you do so much for others through your kind comments and your blog. It was so nice at the end of what was quite a tiring day throwing mugs in my studio to find the Kreativ award from you. Best Wishes to you, Gary, Betty, Butter, and Binky from Peter and Laura
